Rampone Hitless, Streak Ends at 25
Monday, March 1st , 2060
For once, it was the Rice Owls picking up the slack for Isaac Rampone.

The club's "offensive catalyst," as Rice manager Dave Woods has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent today and saw his 25-game hitting streak snapped by the Cal State Fullerton Titans. Rampone was bailed out by the rest of the Owls, however, who stopped the Titans, 4-3.

The 19-year-old first baseman finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."

"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."

For the season Rampone is hitting .403, batted in 31 runs with 11 home runs and 14 runs scored.
