League Suspends Axon and Battle for Brawl Monday, June 16th , 2059 After an intense confrontation, both the Fat Boys Melville Axon and the Stars Joseph Battle were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Eagle River-Frederick game. Melville Axon will miss 3 games, while Joseph Battle was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Melville Axon commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Axon currently has a .244 batting average with 47 hits, 7 homers, 20 RBIs, 32 runs scored and a .355 OBP. Checking out his stats for the season, Battle has registered 1 win and 3 losses in 11 starts, 3.59 ERA and struck out 56 batters in 57.2 innings. |
