Shottenkirk Named Top Reliever for WORT
Saturday, October 14th , 2062
At the age of 23, Denver Shottenkirk says he still has a lot to learn about life in Lautering Union.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Rockford Playboys reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2062 The Wort Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Torrance, California native said.
For the season, Shottenkirk had 6 saves in 53 relief appearances, which totaled 86.2. He fanned 143 betters, while walking 34 and put up a record of 2-1 to go with his 1.87 ERA.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Cody Lane of the Fort Lee Generals finished second in voting, while Ron Brown of the Auburn Venom finished third.
