Generals Poe and Amish Blankenship Suspended for Fight Tuesday, July 15th , 2059 Yesterday at Lubbock Grounds Zane Poe and Ray Blankenship got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Fort Lee Generals and Sacramento Amish. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Poe will have to sit out 4 while Blankenship would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season Poe has 15 home runs and a .316 batting average. So far this year Blankenship has a 1-3 record with a 4.39 ERA. |
