3-HR Game for Griffiths Saturday, April 9th , 2050 The Santo Domingo Rum Runners won't soon forget the display of raw power put on today by Vince Griffiths of the Hartford Whalers. He victimized the Rum Runners by pounding three pitches out of Brugal Park to spark his club to the 9-6 win. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Griffiths told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3." In addition to the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Vince Griffiths flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Orien Fuentes in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Joseph Wells in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Laurence Wandaba in the 9th and struck out in the 10th. So far this year Griffiths has 3 home runs and a .182 batting average. |
