Tobs End Rose's Streak
Friday, June 10th, 2044
Galen Rose, catcher for the Santo Domingo Rum Runners, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Carolina Tobs today. Not only did the Tobs break his 27-game hitting streak, they also beat Santo Domingo by the score of 9-2.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Rose said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This year Rose is hitting .317, produced 34 RBIs and 8 home runs, scored 29 times and gotten on base at a .343 rate.
