5-for-8 Day for Nunes Friday, August 19th , 2050 It was a sensational day at the plate for Maine Guides first baseman Pat Nunes, but a tough one for the team, as the Guides dropped the contest 8-5 to the Indianapolis Racers. Even with the loss, Nunes was pure misery for the Indianapolis pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-8 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Nunes, who is the seven-time All-Star . "Nunes really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Racers manager Shaun Hawthorne told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Pat Nunes grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, doubled in the 14th and singled in the 16th.
