Petit's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Saturday, September 14th , 2052 New Orleans first baseman Cory Petit keeps on racking up hits every time he plays. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 2 hits at Henry Byrd Field today. The Voodoo took the 6-4 victory over the Hartford Whalers. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Petit said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Cory Petit singled in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th and flied out in the 6th. To date Petit has chalked up a .386 average with 20 home runs, driven in 97 runs and scored 109 times. |
