Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, July 5th , 2061 After an intense confrontation, both the Guides Nathan Bennett and the Dinos Phil Russell were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Maine-Los Angeles game. Nathan Bennett will miss 3 games, while Phil Russell was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Nathan Bennett commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Bennett has collected 96 hits for the Guides this year, 10 of them home runs. He has also netted 36 RBIs and scored 39 runs while batting .319. This year Russell has a 1-3 record with a 4.50 ERA. |
