Werth Belts 3 HR Against Wilmington
Wednesday, May 13th, 2048
In a powerful performance that left the fans at Kennedy Field at Metropolitan Stadium buzzing, New York Cyclones right fielder Melchior Werth blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 8-3 win over the Wilmington Clowns.
"Everything was clicking," Werth told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."
Werth shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Cyclones manager Dave Paton said. "Melchior played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."
Melchior Werth hit a solo-shot off Lexus Planas in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Lexus Planas in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Cole Gathmann in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
This year Werth has hit at a .313 pace and produced 24 RBIs, 9 home runs and scored 16 runs.
