Falmouth Advances to Cape Cup
|
The fans in Falmouth are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Chatham.
The Falmouth Commodores finished off the Chatham Anglers 3-1 in the deciding game of the Round 2 played at Arnie Allen Diamond.
They took the series 2-1 and will now head to the Cape Cup.
For his standout play, Falmouth third baseman Kenneth Seymour was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.
He batted .545, drove in 2 runs and scored 3 to lead his club to victory.
"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Seymour and that doomed us," said Anglers manager Jimmy Kelly. "Hats off to Falmouth, though. That was a great series."
The Cape Cup matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
