Williams Smacks 5 Hits for Seals
|
San Francisco Seals first baseman Kyle Williams had a day to remember at Seal Park today, ripping apart the Buffalo Red Wings and sparking the Seals to a 6-5 victory.
Williams wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Williams told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Kyle Williams singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
For the season Williams has produced 83 hits in 251 at-bats for a .331 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .371 clip.
