GCL Devastated by Playoff Elimination Tuesday, August 28th , 2012 The hopes of lifting a championship trophy in GCL this year have now vanished. The GCL Yankees have been eliminated from postseason contention. "I'm not happy but I'm trying to come to terms with it," starting pitcher Dovydas Neverauskas said. The Yankees have missed the playoffs 20 times in their 21 years as a Gulf Coast League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 19th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1993. |
