Nate Freiman Drills 3 HR in One Game Thursday, August 20th , 2009 Fans at Chain of Lakes Park got an impromptu firework display today courtesy of GCL Marlins first baseman Nate Freiman. He belted a trifecta of home runs to power his club to victory 14-3 over the GCL Red Sox. In the win, Freiman stunned the Red Sox pitching staff for 3 hits in 5 at-bats and knocked in 7 runs. "It was the best kind of day," Freiman said after the game. "I hardly had to work for it. Hitting today was a piece of cake, with lots of extra icing on it." Nate Freiman hit a two-run home run off Ruben Burgos in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Josh Kauten in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Leonel Santiago in the 6th, walked in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This season in 46 games Freiman is batting .415 with 20 home runs, 54 RBIs and has scored 43 times. |
