Season Possibly Over for Carlos Morales
Wednesday, June 3rd , 2009
The doctors have spoken and Carlos Morales of the Quad Cities Swing didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old shortstop is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Morales sustained his season-ending injury during the South Bend Silver Hawks game yesterday at Modern Woodmen Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Quad Cities medical staff reported Morales had a severely strained hip muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.

This season in 40 games, Morales has hit at a .190 clip with 19 hits, no home runs, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
