No Playoff Berth Coming for Cedar Rapids Thursday, September 22nd , 2011 It "never gets easier" to have a playoff push come to an end, according to starting pitcher Marco Vargas of the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The Cedar Rapids player said his club was banking on being able to push themselves into the postseason, but they are now mathematically eliminated. This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2009. In total, the Kernels have missed the playoffs 10 times in their 17-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Kernels have missed the playoffs 3 times. Cedar Rapids has won the Round 1 3 times in their history. |
