Suns Spellbound, Solorzano Hurls No-Hitter
Monday, July 23rd , 2012
Excitement reigned at Pringles Park as West Tenn Diamond Jaxx hurler Jacques Solorzano tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Jacksonville Suns, 5-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Solorzano said. "Today I just went right at the Suns as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Solorzano, who is tied for 7th in the SOUL in quality starts with 8, chalked up 3 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said West Tenn manager John Rabb.
This season, Solorzano shows a 4-6 record in 19 games, 109.1 innings, 88 strikeouts, and a 4.03 ERA.
