Vandel Sparkles in 4-0 Shutout Saturday, August 15th , 2009 Geoff Vandel had the Huntsville Stars dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 4-0 shutout performance for the Birmingham Barons. He gave up 3 hits, issued no walks and had 6 strikeouts. Huntsville hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager David McCallister said. "We just never figured him out."
