Spiders Rally For 8-6 Win
|
Boston got a terrific game from third baseman Arturo Rios. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cleveland, 8-6. Rios went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. With the win, the Spiders improved to 76-81.
Cleveland took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Omar Nava hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Spiders in front, 6-5.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Boston skipper Scotty Smalls said.
