Angels Stymie Cleveland, Take 7-0 Win
|
The Anaheim Angels topped the Cleveland Spiders, 7-0, in AL action at Jacobs Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Anaheim pitcher Macay McBride. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Angels.
Anaheim used the timely hitting of Victor Cancino to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Angels on top, 5-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Anaheim skipper Ken Frailing.
