5-for-5 Day for Thompson Friday, April 24th , 1981 Ricky Thompson found his groove in today's game versus the Dallas Rustlers and wrote his name in the league record book. His 5-for-5 performance at the plate unfortunately wasn't enough for the Minneapolis Blizzard, as the club lost the game, 8-7. The 26-year-old second baseman told the press "it was one of those days where everything clicked." "I made solid contact, and the ball dropped in," Thompson said. Ricky Thompson hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
