The Seattle Comets got a sterling performance from pitcher Antonio Romo, but the Las Vegas Gamblers still prevailed, 3-1. Romo threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Derrek Sanders in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Jesse Street took the loss. Early on, the Gamblers, at 21-5, have excelled.

Las Vegas got a knockout punch from Jeff Smith. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Smith.
