Dabir Aly pitched a gem to lead Charlotte to victory over the Tampa Bay Storm, 5-1. Edwin Martinez earned the save, his 5th.

Charlotte used the clutch hitting of Dustin Meredith to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Colonels the lead, 1-0. For the game, Meredith had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"We've got a great group of guys," Meredith said, "and we're having fun right now."

The Storm, now 7-12, continue their poor start.
