The Nashville Blues beat the New York Aces, 5-3. Nashville pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Antonio Hernandez led the way. The win puts Nashville at 7-5.
Carlos Chavez, the 15th overall pick in the 1976 draft, aided the Nashville cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4.
"We did a lot of things right," said Hernandez.
