Golden Eagles Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire Sunday, September 18th , 2022 The joy and relief on the faces of the Spokane Golden Eagles players was obvious as they celebrated their Division Series win over the Monument Beach Privateers. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Spokane shortstop Jon Trinder, shortly after the 5-3 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the League Championship Series. Trinder won series MVP honors on the strength of his .400 batting average during the series. He also had a .429 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Spokane Golden Eagles will play against the Durand Peacocks in the next round. Durand won their series against the Republic Vipers 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
