Big 3-HR Day for Villalovos Saturday, September 7th , 2019 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Danny Villalovos can celebrate. The Fresno Steelhawks center fielder powered three into the stands at Fresno Grounds today against the New Orleans Honu. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Villalovos told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Steelhawks toppled New Orleans by a score of 13-5, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Fresno manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Danny Villalovos hit a two-run home run off Andrew Floyd in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Sanchez in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Felix Gonzalez in the 8th. In this current campaign Villalovos is hitting at a .286 clip with 66 home runs and 138 RBIs. |
