Hecklers Beaten By Wolf Pack, 3-0
|
The Sacramento Wolf Pack picked up a win at Sacramento Stadium, topping the Huntington Beach Hecklers, 3-0. On the mound for Sacramento was left-hander Emeric Alcala. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 7 innings, Alcala surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Claude André recorded the save, his 3rd.
Jeremy Jolly had a big run-scoring double for the Wolf Pack in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sacramento leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from Edgar Ayala, who led the NL in ERA with 2.52 in 2020, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolf Pack ahead, 2-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Alcala.
The win puts Sacramento at 5-2.
