Behind an impressive start by Andy Willoughby, Virginia Beach beat Charlotte, 2-0. Eric Morning recorded the save for Virginia Beach, his 14th of the season. The win lifted the Virginia Beach record to 29-20.

Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Sandy Estrella to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Willoughby told the Virginia Beach Daily.
