Buck Lifts Gold Miners to 7-6 Win
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Jeremy Buck, the Portland Gold Miners beat the River City Pirates, 7-6. Buck went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Navarro. The Gold Miners, at 22-25, have now won 4 straight.

Portland used the hitting of Cameron Torres to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Gold Miners on top, 5-0. For the game, Torres had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Torres. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
