|
River City pitcher Hippolyte Hardy did his part in helping his team beat the Oakland Gales, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Hardy picked up the win for River City, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. The first-place Gales have dropped 4 straight games.
River City used the timely hitting of Jose Alvarez to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Gutsy performance by Hippolyte," said River City manager Jordan Drapal.
