Seagulls Beat Visiting Mothmen, 7-4
|
With second baseman Kyle Walling leading the charge, the Nashville Seagulls defeated the Massachusetts Mothmen, 7-4, at Nashville Grounds. Walling, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in triples with 4, was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times. The winner was Lou Espino in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jonathan Searfoss took the loss. Rob Sosa got credit for the save for Nashville. It was his 7th of the year.
The Seagulls got a big at-bat from shortstop Joel Colburn. For the game, Colburn was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Nashville a 6-4 lead.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Seagulls manager .
The Seagulls saw their record improve to 17-24.
