Guest Jets Win, 6-1, at San Antonio
|
Counts Park was the site for National League action featuring the San Antonio Pitmasters and Texas Jets.
Starting pitcher Jon Callahan had a solid game. He was a big reason the Texas Jets throttled the San Antonio Pitmasters, 6-1. Texas has an impressive 27-8 record.
Mike Roche had a big run-scoring double for the Jets in the top of the sixth inning. With Texas leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Kevin Pool, who is tied for 6th in the NL in innings pitched with 49.0, and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jets ahead, 3-1.
"Jon had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Texas manager Bobby Cox.
