Late Rally by Gold Miners Locks Up 4-1 Win
|
Portland Gold Miners starter Trevor Geisen pitched a strong game against the Charlotte Ironmen at Gold Minersdome, leading the Gold Miners to victory, 4-1. The win was credited to 30-year old left-handed pitcher Brendan Trippi in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Willie Interiano took the loss. Charlotte falls to 17-16.
Portland took a 4-1 lead on Jon Neal's 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Neal hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Charlotte pitcher Willie Interiano visibly frustrated.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Neal.
