The Oklahoma City Naturals topped the River City Pirates by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was third baseman Steve Archer. Archer was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for the Naturals. Russ Johnson, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The Pirates drop to 16-16 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2022 season.
Oklahoma City used the timely hitting of Nate Garvin to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Naturals on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
