Aaron Woodin, who finished 4th in the NL in innings pitched with 213.0 in 2019, never let the Potatoes get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Ironmen to a win, 4-1. The setback makes the Potatoes 7-15.

Charlotte used the timely hitting of Joe Maher to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ironmen on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Woodin told the Charlotte Daily News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
