Park goes 4-for-4, Leads Jets to Win
|
Texas took on Huntington Beach in front of a lively crowd.
The timely hitting of Sung-hyun Park helped the Texas Jets down the Huntington Beach Hecklers, 9-2. Park went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 4 and driving in 3 for the Jets. Cecil Cooper, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4.
In the bottom of the fourth, Texas shortstop Curtis Reynolds had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Reynolds stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 4-2, Texas. For the game, he was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
"What a lackluster performance," lamented losing manager Michael Troutson.
Texas is off to a hot start at 14-4.
