Behind a solid performance from second baseman Daniel Palomares, the River City Pirates defeated the San Antonio Pitmasters, 7-5. Palomares was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Pirates. At 70-78, the Pirates are currently last in the American League AL Central.

Julian Perez had a big 2-run double for the Pirates in the bottom of the second inning. With River City leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 37-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Garza and swatted a double to right.
