Hecklers Take Tight Tilt
|
Fans watched the Huntington Beach Hecklers and the Honolulu Tornado fight to the finish.
The Huntington Beach Hecklers beat the Honolulu Tornado, 3-2, at Tornado Fields. Huntington Beach second baseman John Peck had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. The win belonged to Steve Lane in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sayatnova Bagdasarian took the loss for Honolulu. Mamoru Fujisaki got credit for the save for Huntington Beach. It was his 6th of the year.
Peck had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Sayatnova Bagdasarian, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Hecklers a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Peck.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Peck said in reaction to the win.
Huntington Beach goes to 8-7.
