Wreckers Win at Home, 6-1
|
Austin beat Idaho on the strength of starting pitcher Chris Fox's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-1. The winner was Fox. He threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Sean Bradfield. The win elevated the Wreckers to 74-60.
Craig Plew had a big 2-run double for the Wreckers in the bottom of the third inning. With Austin leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 30-year old left-handed pitcher Sean Bradfield and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wreckers ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Willard Dookie: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
