Stunnas Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The San Diego Stunnas had to overcome a big game from Las Vegas left fielder Gene Foster to leave Smokiesdome with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Foster slugged 2 home runs. Moises Galan was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities. The win puts San Diego at 39-72.
Had Zhong-yan Liu not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Liu hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Stunnas.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Liu. "Those qualities define our team."
