|
Austin beat River City on the strength of starting pitcher Lee Cruz's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. River City has now lost 4 in a row.
Mike Garst was the walk-off hero for Austin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wreckers catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
After the game, Austin manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
