Polecats Take Down Mothmen, 6-5
|
The Long Beach Polecats electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
The Long Beach Polecats defeated the Massachusetts Mothmen, 6-5, in 15 innings. Jesse Bubash, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2018, played a big role. Bubash was 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs for the Polecats in the win. Long Beach now owns a record of 53-50.
Long Beach got a knockout punch from Chris Hill. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 15th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
In postgame remarks, Hill said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
