The home crowd had a good time watching the Detroit Swordfish and Huntington Beach Hecklers get after it.

The Huntington Beach Hecklers downed the Detroit Swordfish, 5-0, at Islanders Field. Stellar pitching by Edgar Ayala had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 3rd in the NL in innings pitched with 214.2 last year, handcuffed his opponent all game. Huntington Beach is now 48-52.

Ayala subdued the Detroit offense. The Huntington Beach right-hander allowed a mere 2 hits over 8.1 innings, while fanning 11. His season record goes to 10-3 with the win.

"Edgar did a good job mixing and matching," said Huntington Beach manager Michael Troutson.
