Stunnas Win 5-3 Nail-Biter Versus Bulldogs
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Seth Dixon, the Virginia Beach Bulldogs lost to the San Diego Stunnas, 5-3. Dixon was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. San Diego reliever Jonathan Medders picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Elias Felix was saddled with the loss. The win puts San Diego at 31-60.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 11th for San Diego. That's when 15-year veteran Jimmy Poe hit a 2-run home run off Elias Felix to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
Poe told a San Diego Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
