The Austin Wreckers faced a tough opponent in Charlotte pitcher Marshall Hammond, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Austin Stadium by a final score of 6-5. Hammond went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win belonged to Keith Oliverson in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Juan Hernandez took the loss for Charlotte. With the win, Austin upped its record to 47-43.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Austin. That's when Brad Agee hit a 2-run double off 35-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Hernandez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
