Polecats Take Tight Tangle
Long Beach second baseman Jesse Bubash helped his team beat the Huntington Beach Hecklers, 5-4. Bubash, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2018, went 2 for 3 for the Polecats. Mike Barratt, now 3-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Long Beach raised its record to 44-43 with the win.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Long Beach first baseman Chris Hill, facing Jalen Bush, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Polecats the 5-4 win.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Bubash said.
