Gabe Robles, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 249 in 2019, imposed his will on the Wreckers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 River City triumph. Jorge Aguirre earned his 26th save in 27 chances. The win puts River City at 47-38 this season.

The Pirates got a big at-bat from third baseman Justin Monroe. For the game, Monroe was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave River City a 2-0 lead.
