Charlotte Wins League Championship Series
The Charlotte Ironmen are riding high after winning the League Championship Series and eliminating the Oakland Gales by a series score of 4-2.

The final blow came tonight at Galesdome, when Charlotte secured its spot in the World Series with a 4-3 victory.

"It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said shortstop Chris Perryman, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance."

Perryman certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .400 with a .407 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 0 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Charlotte Ironmen will play against the Nashville Seagulls in the next round. Nashville won their series against the Albuquerque Tigercats 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
