Raucous Ironmen Stadium Crowd Propels Ironmen to 9-4 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Charlotte Ironmen and the Austin Wreckers will take the Wildcard Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Ironmen beat the Wreckers, 9-4, at Ironmen Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Charlotte right-hander Franck de Koning had a big role in the win. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball.
Joe Maher helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Ironmen.
"Franck was throwing free and easy," said Charlotte manager Nick Khabby.
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 12th , 2022 at Austin Stadium in Austin.
