Atlantic City Wins Division Series Saturday, September 20th , 2042 The Division Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Atlantic City Gamblers, however, are not complaining. The Gamblers were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Crystal Lake Killers to advance to the League Championship Series. Atlantic City won the final game by a 4-3 count at Killers Ballpark and the series 3-1. Gamblers shortstop Jay Ring was named series MVP, as he hit .471 with a .526 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs. "It's not going to be the last time Crystal Lake makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Ring said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The Atlantic City Gamblers will play against the Canton Bulls in the next round. Canton won their series against the Cedar Rapids Red Caps 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
